5/1/2020 So it is with great sadness that we say goodbye to brother Johnny as he goes back home to Alabama to seek greener pastures. These past 8 years playing music and growing our friendship to that of a brotherhood will truly be missed by all your band mates. May your future endeavors be crowned with endless rewards. Although the miles between us will be great, we are united in our love for music and one another. We have seen many a nights together and experienced many good times and many sad times. From losing loved ones to watching one another grow in fathers - the spectrum of experiences has been nothing short of incredible and life changing. This is not a final goodbye - rather it is just "until next time." Cheer to you good sir.
P.S. We are going on hiatus. We are not exactly sure what the future holds but we know there will be some form of music. Thank you to all who have listened, jammed out, seshed, boogie woogied, and got weird with us. Thank you for taking the time to read this. While we are sad, we are glad that we feel that way because it means we had incredible experiences playing music as brothers.
Until then, STAY TUNED...
AFISHNSEA THE MOON.
Well the hits just keep on coming. No April Fool's jokes here yo. Just hope you all stay safe and healthy. We have (obviously) postponed Lorbofest until the world gets normal again. We will update you on whatever happens.
Hello all you beautiful people -
I've not been wanting update this website. There's been times I've logged in and I couldn't get started. Other times I couldn't finish. I would stare at the screen and cry. Other times I would just not even open the computer - as if delaying the update would make it any less real.
As I'm sure many of you have heard, Lauren Luther Campbell, AKA LORBO - has left this plane of existence. We picture him now surfing the mightiest waves (while trunking it of course) and jamming the tastiest licks with other legends that are no longer among us.
We've deeply been in mourning. He was one of a kind. He lifted everyone's spirits and was always the peacemaker. The paddle out in his honor saw at least 250+ in the water and another 100-150 on the sands of Rincon Beach. His memorial service was beautiful with his family relaying beautiful stories about who he was and what kind of impact he had.
And that is what we come to ask of you today. Whenever you read this. Share stories of Lorbo. His legacy of love.
And we as a band, as brothers, want to carry on his legacy in music that he allowed us to share with him. We were able to get together shortly after this tragedy and decided that Lorbo would want us to carry on. Lorbo loved to play music. Lorbo loved music. With his family's blessing, we are extremely proud and honored to announce LORBOFEST.
The fest will be held March 14th. We have garnered some of his favorite bands to play - Skamakazie, One Two Tree, Cornerstone, and the Upbeat. Afishnsea will play as well. We are asking all that knew and loved him to attend. We will need your support. Every band will be donating their time. BrewLab is kind enough to use one of their event permits to host the Fest.
We are going to be asking for donations for a couple reasons. Lorbo's brother, Soup, has worked passionately for 15+ years to build a skatepark for the community to enjoy. We are proud to say that we will donate proceeds to the Carp Skatepark Foundation.
Also, in order to carry on his spirit and love of music, we are creating a music scholarship in his name. We will be also asking for donations for this endeavor.
Please mark it on your calendars - March 14th. We will relay more details as they come.
